Hopewell Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Hopewell Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. (the “Department”), a New York not-for-profit corporation and a qualified volunteer fire department within the meaning of Section 150(e) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”), organized and operated to provide firefighting or emergency medical services for persons within its service area pursuant to an agreement with the Town of Hopewell will hold a public hearing on June 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at Fire Station 1, 3393 County Road 4, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
The hearing will address the proposed issuance of tax-exempt obligations in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $670,000 (the “Bonds”). The proceeds of the Bonds will be used to refinance Department’s existing real property mortgage loan originally incurred to acquire the Department’s fire station facility, located at 4018 Routes 5&20, Canandaigua, NY 14424 (the “Fire Station”). Then Bonds are expected to be purchased by Bank of Greene County. The Fire Station is owned, operated and managed by the Department and used in connection with the Department’s firefighting, rescue, emergency medical, and public safety activities.
The Town of Hopewell is not liable for this debt. This hearing is being held pursuant to Section 147(f) of the Code. Interested persons are invited to attend the hearing. Public comment is welcomed in person or in writing, submitted to Gregory Bouchard, President, P.O. Box 932, Canandaigua, NY 14424 by June 12, 2026.
